Visit the region's cellar doors and wineries but don't let this indulgence get in the way of your transport plans. Rather than driving yourself, try one of the local tour or transport services or choose a driver within your group.

Be prepared
Roads around the Barossa are well maintained and in good condition. As you are in the country, there are some additional things to keep in mind.
You will notice as you drive around that the locals will often raise their index finger off the steering wheel as they pass. This is a kind of country driver salute. Return this subtle gesture and you'll feel like one of the locals.
Need a break from behind the wheel? Hire a bike and check out the new Barossa Bike Trail, a scenic cycling track between Angaston and Nuriootpa.
For an idea of a few places to go, download the Barossa Touring Map before you head off. Chat to the locals about the region's best-kept secrets. Enjoy your travels through Australia's best-loved wine region.
Drive safely
Important tip! In South Australia, the blood alcohol limit for drivers is 0.05.
