Fleurieu Peninsula Towns

(此页面即将被翻译成中文,对于由此带来的不便我们深表歉意)Wine and beaches

It’s the wine and beaches that bring people to the Fleurieu Peninsula’s coastal towns. Many seaside caravan parks, bed and breakfasts (B&Bs) and backpackers have panoramic views of the water.

Horse Drawn Tram, Victor Harbor to Granite Island, South Australia

Victor Harbor is the Fleurieu Peninsula’s most popular beachside town. As you drive in, you will see the harbour’s wide ocean horizon and neighbouring islands. When you arrive in the township, catch the horse-drawn tram across the bridge.

Take a horse-drawn tram to the island

The bridge stretches from the mainland to Granite Island, which is home to little penguins, seals and other wildlife. Take a tour and learn more about the island and its inhabitants.

Goolwa is a short drive from Victor Harbor and is a popular boating town. It’s alongside the Murray River. Watch the yachts sail by, as you dine at one of the riverside restaurants.

Murray Mouth

Drive across the bridge to the marina at Hindmarsh Island, near the mouth of the Murray River. Hire a boat on the island or venture up the river on one of the paddle steamers.

Surfers flock to Port Elliot for the waves at Boomer Beach. Families enjoy the town’s protected swimming beach at Horseshoe Bay. Kids love the Cockle Train, which passes through Port Elliot on its way to Victor Harbor.

Explore the wreck of the HMAS Hobart by diving at Carrickalinga. Dine by the beach at Port Noarlunga or Aldinga.

Trails and tours

Sample the Fleurieu Peninsula’s wines at McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek. Home to some of Australia’s most recognisable wine brands. Explore the region by car, bus tour or bike. Walk or cycle along the eight kilometre Shiraz Trail and stop at the cellar doors along the way.

Visit inland towns like Willunga, Mount Compass, Strathalbyn and Yankalilla, nestled amongst undulating dairy farms, national parks and wandering creeks. Pick up some local produce while you are there. The local history has been well preserved in these towns and the tourist walks are worth exploring.
